Admins only

Settings is for admins and the owner. Change what you need, then choose Save settings.

What you can change

• Organization name.
• Address. Scriblet looks it up when you save and shows what it found. Include the street for the closest match. Sunset times are worked out from it.
• Time zone. Dates, alert times and sunset times all follow it.
• Which day does your group meet? Your service day. When a contributor sends an update with no date, or says “this week”, Scriblet uses the coming service day.
• Calendar watches. The day and time each week when weekly alerts start watching the coming service day. It’s Monday at 12:00 unless you change it, in your organization’s time zone.

Changing your organization’s name doesn’t change its Scriblet address.

How contributors send updates

Settings also shows your organization’s Phone number and Update email address. Scriblet assigns both, and they can’t be changed.

• Share the phone number with your contributors, but don’t publish it. Only people on People can use it.
• The update email address is permanent, so it’s safe to print and share.
• Anyone can join your email list by emailing the update address with the subject subscribe. See Your email list.

What’s set up for you

Your organization’s duties, service items and announcement types are set up by Scriblet, and can’t be changed in the console. For a change, email support@scriblet.io.

Setting up your organization

When you create an organization, you give its name, its time zone and your mobile number. You become its owner, and you’re added to People so you can text updates straight away.

Then Finishing your setup shows what’s left:

• What we need from you, like choosing a plan, if your organization pays for Scriblet. See Billing.
• What Scriblet is doing: preparing your organization, and assigning its update email address and text number. These finish on their own. If they’re still there after a few minutes, email support@scriblet.io.

Choose Check again to see if they’re done. When everything is finished, the console takes you to Home, and you can start adding people.
